6 Chord Menzenhaur guitar zither by Oscar Schmidt probably made in Berlin early 1900s.
Oscar Schmidt was buying from Menzenhaur, who had the patent, then bought him out!
This has 6 sets of chords each with 4 strings. 25 melody strings tuned similar to a piano.
Very good condition for its age, strings are good. Pins are reasonably tight so will stay in tune.
No cracking in the wood but interesting crackling effect in the varnish due to its age. Structurally sound.
Dimensions are - 55cm x 41cm
Leaves my workshop tuned and it does come with a tuning key/wrench
