A double-strung harp/lyre. Cross-string harp/lyre. Multi-course harp/lyre. I'm not too sure what to call this!!
Made in Germany at Malsch. by Adolf Pauly in 1938! Very rare and unique shaped lyre with 30 steel strings. The front section of strings are the major notes and the back section give the sharps and flats. So it's basically tuned like a piano.
It measures 70cm long and 50cm wide.
The curved back has been repaired. There was a slight split on the join between two sections of wood. Very slight wood shrinkage here and there but nothing structurally bad or anything affecting the sound. Pretty good condition for 87 years old.
Comes supplied with a tuning key.
