6 Chord Mandolin Zither
92 strings altogether! This is a 6 chord mandolin zither made by Meinel & Herold, Germany. Estimated 1920s - 1950.
It has 6 sets of chords each with 7 strings, giving a lovely full sound. There are 25 melody notes each doubled up giving that mandolin sound, also making it a bit louder than the guitar zither.
There are a few cracks on the top but doesn't affect the sound or the tuning, tuning pins go into a solid block under the "deck". Tuning pins are tarnished with age but not rusty.
Dimensions 54cm x 50cm.
Leaves my workshop tuned and comes with a tuning key.
